Umbteed / Dead Ends
Present exhibition displays drawing-based objects – packs of A4 format copy paper that have been sort of drawn through until the graphite will wear out one piece of paper after another and then the next one and so on ... The original function as well as the format of copy paper provides motive for repetitions and multiplying, while also referring to standardization and regularity. This together with repetitive drawing activity will be combined into one integrated whole.
However, these repetitions are not without end since during the process of carving the cavity will decrease and reaches until about a half of the paper pack. It is not possible to get to the last page even if this seems to be a desirable goal. One will reach to the darkening end of the cul-de-sac. But as it is often characteristic to repetitions, these create sort of an insane and absurd atmosphere and in general it is not rational at all to delve into dead ends. Despite that it can still be interesting and attractive.
